‘Bone Jar’ necklace

From basic tools to divination, humans have found countless ways to use bones. The practice of creating bone jewellery for human adornment dates back over 80,000 years, and has remained popular in every era of cultures worldwide. Decorate yourself with this bone necklace, and live your authentic self!

Raptor pellets are regurgitated by birds of prey, and contain all the bits that can’t be digested like bones fur, and feathers. When you find a raptor pellet in nature, you can find out what bird it came from by its size and shape, and what kind of prey it contains.

These bones come from small mammals such as field voles, shrews, and wood mouse, and each jar contains a mixture of bones such as teeth, limbs, vertebrae, and jaw bones - sometimes even smaller skulls!

All bones have been cleaned and gently lightened, before being dried and sanitised, but older bones will appear darker in colour and small pieces of fur may still remain to keep the look more true-to-nature. The pendant jars are around 2.5cm in height, and come on a stainless steel chain with a lobster clip fastener as standard.

---

Transparency is important! Every single bone in these jars have been found naturally in known hunting/nesting locations of wild native UK birds of prey. The birds were not harmed or disturbed.
