Octopus tile earrings - navy
Steeped in legend, the octopus has been revered as both villain and god. Its far-reaching arms, shape-shifting body, and ability to squeeze into the tiniest spaces make it seem almost unearthly, and has inspired many myths and legends around the world.
Having been around for over 330 million years, octopuses are an important part of a complex underwater ecosystem. They play a vital role as predators of crustaceans which could take over a reef, prey to marine mammals, sharks, and birds, and den-builders which creates microhabitats for many smaller species.
Cut from a wider tile-design featuring shells, seaweed, and an octopus, the studs are made from a blend of lightweight polymer clays, silver leaf for a subtle sparkle, and a silver pigment, with a stainless steel earring post held with resin for durability and ease of cleaning, and secured with a silicone earring back.
As each earring features a different section of the overall design (as pictured), pairs will complement each other, but will be randomly selected for each purchase. No two pairs will be identical.
The earrings measure approximately 1.3cm in height, and have been made in 2 colours - capri blue and navy blue, with a matching necklace available in each colour.
